Patient Information on enhancing patient and family communication whilst an inpatient-strategies during Covid-19 visiting restrictions
Hospital Admission may be a stressful event in people’s lives which is heightened by the Covid-19 pandemic and visiting restrictions.
During these times there are two pressing needs for you as an inpatient, the first to stay connected with your family and friends the second is for both you and your family to have up-to-date and consistent information on your progress/discharge plan.
Keeping in regular contact with family and friends will help your recovery and mental health!
How we can help you to Enhance Family Communication

- Increased Wi-Fi access if required to communicate with your family/relatives
- Use of the ward telephone if you do not have your own phone.
- Your family, friends or loved ones can email messages to Cronin.valerie@sivuh.ie which will be printed for you and delivered to you.
