Department ProfileDepartment Description All patients, > 13 years, are pre-assessed for their suitability for day surgery undergoing general anaesthetic. Services Provided Pre-Admission Assessment for all patients >13 years undergoing general anaesthetic for day surgery.
Location Located on the first floor via the main hospital entrance. The most convenient way to get to the Unit is to go to the lifts or stairs in the main hospital and follow the directions to the day surgery reception area.

- Diet and Exercise advice given
- Patients undergoing a local anaesthetic do not attend the Pre Admission Assessment Clinic but receive an information leaflet regarding the relevant surgery.
